BARGAINING UPDATE – BACK TO THE TABLE

October 29, 2026

Dear members,

This morning, we received indication from the province that government is willing to
return to the bargaining table today.

As soon as we were informed of government’s position, we began the process of
gathering our eight local presidents in Halifax to discuss.
We look forward to seeing government’s revised position and are confident that they
have heard from Nova Scotians how important school support workers are to our
communities.

We will only recommend a tentative agreement to members that addresses your
significant and serious concerns about your working conditions and compensation.
The pressure you’ve been creating through your mobilization and social media posts is
working! Tonight, tomorrow, and this weekend, we must continue mobilizing. Get out to
rallies, info-pickets and other events planned in your area. Tell your friends and
neighbours about the deal we deserve and the schools our communities need. Now is
not the time to take our foot off the gas.
We will send further updates from the bargaining table as they become available.
When we stand together, we win together!

In solidarity,
