Members we will be sending out a text message on SMS and emails regarding our upcoming strike vote. We may also be setting up a 1 day polling station. As locals have reached an impasse and have filled for conciliation your willingness to say yes will show that if we don’t get a decent wage settlement, we will use labour action to achieve our goals.

Your Bargaining Executive

Spring AGM meeting will be held on May 31st at KCA School at 2:00 pm. There will be 4 draws of $25.00 gas gift cards. Please try to attend if you can. We may have some updates about bargaining as we have 2 scheduled bargaining days before this meeting.

Your executive is also looking for a CUPE 3876 member to join our executive for Unit VP for Kings County. If you are interested please contact an executive member. If we have more than one interested member a vote will be necessary at the May 31st meeting.

We are also looking for a member to be a 3 year trustee. If you want more details please email Sherry Murphy, Secretary Treasurer at shannonmurphy@eastlink.ca or any other executive member.

CUPE 3876 Executive

Bargaining today went as anticipated, our proposals were shared with the employer and they in turned shared theirs with us. The bargaining executive then spend the remainder of the day analysing the employers proposals and answering employer questions. Our next bargaining date is tentatively set for Wednesday, May 13th.

We are again moving forward with negotiations with the employer. As part of the process we will be sharing our proposals for your approval on Saturday, March 28th. We will be conducting 3 meetings that day.

Lawrencetown School at 9:30 am to 10:30 am

Kings County Academy  at 12:00 pm 1:00 pm

Avon View High School at 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Once approved by membership we will be going to the table with the employer to begin bargaining.
